Spotted on Okayplayer earlier today, FaShawn has gone an dropped a bomb in the form of a new mixtape. Produced by the accomplished Dj Skee, upon first listen through I found the first whole half of the album fairly forgettable. I can't really put my finger on it but from "Use Somebody ft. Ron Artest" on down, the rest of the mixtape feels more genuine and fine tuned.

Techno Tuesday
In lieu of the missed Music Monday and due to the fact I've just been steeped in an overdose of new rave tunes I'm turning this Tuesday into the very first A-ton Techno Tuesday.
Rest assured there will be a Rock the Bells write up(you can check the twitta feed for an broad re-cap of the events) as I just returned from seeing it in SF the other day, but in the mean time, in between times, knock your knot to these:
Yet to disappoint, every track from Afrojack I've heard thus far has been straight fire. No different, Take Over Control was a choice track for mashing from OR->CA on I-5 so hit this up for some high speed enjoyment.

Goodbye But Not Farwell
Lotsa feelings tonight as two of my best friends head back to both North Carolina and Michigan for another year of that ish we call growth and development (aka college) tomorrow night.
Bitter sweet as it is, I'm stoked for my dudes to spread dem wings and wish them the best in their journeys.

Fashion: Fighting the Good Fight
Ran across this lil' article while frequenting BoF; one of my new daily visiting spots.
While going green has been getting more and more 'stylish,' it appears it is finally working its way into the mainstream as top fashion schools are pushing for "Zero Waste" projects.
As one would imagine, Zero Waste means just that, use erry part of what you got (how Inuit, right?).
An excellent addition to the pressing global issue of waste management, the full article details how budding fashionista's are put to the difficult task of figuring out how to fashion a pair of jeans that not only flatter the body, but the allocation of resources as well.

Stlye kinda fat, reminiscent of a Wale: More About Nothing First Listen Impressions
Waaaaaow!
While The Game's Brake Lights had been keepin me pretty entertained, I finally got around to tearing myself away to spin the much anticipated More About Nothing from Wale. Lemme jus say: daaaag.
Always showing improvement, Wale's newest is straight heat. Engaging and fluid, his flow easily goes from a well timed tip-toe to a frantic flurry of wordplay in the span of a drum snare.
Wale - The Soup
Starting strong, The Problem, The MC and The Soup are all dope stand alone tracks on an album easily listened to in one sitting. Weaving a mundane (in comparison to standard fan-fare of mixtapes these days, or maybe I've just been bumpin to much trap rap) story line, Wale really speaks on his life and what do you know it imitates art pretty darn well.
Wale - The Number Won (More About Nothing)
Pacing the album well, The Eyes of the Tiger, The War, and The Break Up Song effectively switch the tempo up and slow it down for some relaxed real-talk joints.
Wale - The War
Rambling (in the absolute best sense of the word) on through the rest of the album, Wale talks on his (what one hopes, truthful) reality. A refreshing repose from blatantly untrue tales of extreme opulent/ghetto lifestyles, More About Nothing comes off as journalistic as well as playful.
Wale - The Guilty Pleasure No Hands
After a brief break to give the ladies some love after the banger The Black N Gold feat. Sam Sparro, Wale finishes strong with some solid singles that tie the More About Nothing experience up with tracks each lil something for almost everybody.
Wale - The Cloud
Personal and well crafted if you haven't already, I advise you immediately go get that.With GutterTrash tradition I give it a:

Giggs featuring B.o.B - Don't Go There
Come'n at you from across the pond (and brought to my attention by my buddy !DoubleFine!) is the molasses-lipped Giggs. For a review of his new album "Let em ave it," head on over to !DF!'s blog for a most excellent write up.
Ladies and gentlemen: Ron Livingston
Flying low and staying grimy, this next track is straight from the underground. As window shaking, nursery rhyming, mu fuckas make money, it's nice to know that some cats are still in the gutter grinding out with minimalist beats and acrobatic wordplay. Scoring an 89 on Okayplayer.com (as if ratings meant anything anymore), Homeboy Sandman's new album "The Good Sun" will soon be gracing my library soon as I buy that's right buy, the album. It's taking me some time to warm up to R&B, but I've learned to embrace it (mostly thanks to the guidance of GutterTrash) and as of late I have been diggin the sound.
Released from one of my favorite record labels, Stones Throw, comes the silky smoove vocals of Mayer Hawthorne. Working with the likes of Aloee Blac, Mf Doom, Guilty Simpson, and Peanut Butter Wolf just to name a few, Stones Throw has a reputation for being real real.

Also hailing from GT's influence on my musical taste, is Dj Bl3nd. Gutter and I have both thrown up his '09 Club mix and he has a '10 electro mix that was released fairly recently. While the Chuckie mask he wears I find down right terrifying, he mixes a mean dance track.
*Edit* I guess Dj Bl3nd lives a year in the future cause this is his '11 mix.
