Mixtape Monday

As of late I've found myself gathering mixtapes rather than singles and thought I'd share a few the A-Ton certified ones. All are available from getrightmusic.com and I highly suggest you start peepin their style as they are on point with the mixtape releases.

Underground for a minute now, Dead Prez pops up with this sick ass jam tape. While nothing new in terms of content (an ambiguous but powerful cry for freedom), my favorite is the re-imagining of "Far From Over." I know when I first heard Drake on it I knew it could have been put to better use. Check it

Just released today, Dj Premier (one of my FAVORITE producers. i.e Jeru The Damaja, Group Home, Big Shug and of course Gang Starr) drops the New York Reality Check 101. NY in nature, the ish is hot. Having only spun it once I can't touch on it to heavy because I want ya'll to enjoy it for it as the typea fresh it is.

You probably know her from the single "American Boy" feat. one of showbiz's most pompous rappers Yeezy, and Estelle does not disappoint with her mixtape #ialmostmadeamixtape. I think she's an incredibly talented singer and the mixtape is an excellent show of her talent.

Hailing from CA, this up an comer has been on my radar since Double Fine put me on him awhile back with his "Life as a shorty" track. Ode To Illmatic unsurprisingly, is just that. Using the timeless and versatile beats from Nas's debut street album "Illmatic," Fashawn pays homage to one of the greats. Beauty is in the ear of the beholder, and for me, it works.

Last but certainly not least is Big Boi's banga' Mixtape For Dummies. If you've heard his new album you know, if you got this before it like I did you been knowin': Big Boi is dope.

Short n sweet, I got things so peace for now ya'll.
